My Journey to Taiwan

Visiting Taiwan is one of my dreams, as I have listened a lot of songs by Taiwanese singers and also my Grandpa stays there. The dream came true in Nov 2005.

After four hours' flight, I arrived at Kaohsiung airport and met with my grandpa and grandma. Their kind smiles made me feel at home. After a great dinner, I spent a few hours to talk with my grandparents. It's a big relief that their health conditions are excellent as I heard that they suffered from some diseases previously. The next day they showed me around the Kaohsiung city and I enjoyed the tour very much as I visited various places and also talked with other local people.

The third day, my grandparents accompanied me to visit Taipei. Of all the places I visited in Taipei, I like the National Palace Museum and Yangmingshan National Park. My eyes were opened by so many treasures in the National Palace Museum and my mind was broadened by the beautiful scene of Yangmingshan National Park. We also visited the President's office and Chiang Kai-Shek's Memorial.

After came back to Kaohsiung, I spent a few days living with my grandparents and experiencing the local life. It was peaceful and delightful. One night, as we walked along the Love River of Kaohsiung, my grandparents were holding each other's hands - oh, that's so romantic and sweet!

To the Family: a Trip That Realizes a Dream

之于家族，台湾之行，是实现一个梦想－－探望远方的亲人。代表大陆家族３０余人，我终于见到了十余年未见的爷爷［叔公］，看到了他们快乐的一家。 家族中硬汉从出，爷爷更是典型代表－－在大陆时作国军杂志编辑，国军战败，不愿屈身于其它党派门下，于是不到２０岁便到台湾，在台湾军校中呆过几年，后继续在国军内从事文字方面的工作。写一手好字，同时也练就一身好身体　－－　曾供职于国军拳击队，打过全岛冠军。退休后，不幸患癌症，所幸六年前施行手术，至今未复发。其它慢性疾病如糖尿病，关节退化也没有吓倒他。从高雄北上台北带我游故宫爬阳明山，打趣曰‘舍命陪孙子‘，亲情可见一斑。

之于我，台湾之行，给我机会去了解不同的文化和生活，同时我在当地的所见所闻也让我可以从不同的角度来思考自己的想法。旅者之意，不在景也，而在心灵也。　当然，景还是要去，照还是要拍，过几天将上传部分图片－－被重感冒突袭之中。
